Our firm embarked on a near-shoring project from China to Mexico 2 years ago. We needed to find a suitable location in Mexico to establish, equip and operate a highly complex Electronic Manufacturing Services (‘EMS’) facility to meet demand from our major consumer brand corporate clients in North America.

Sofia has been an associate at the Firm for more than 9 years. Her main practice areas include intellectual property and corporate law.
Sofía actively acts as a corporate advisor on several legal issues associated in general with the practice of Intellectual Property, obtaining balanced experience in the processing of trademarks, designs model and utility models for the Firm's clients, national and international companies, as well as small emerging companies, in addition to acting as a liaison between clients and the Firm's correspondents around the world.
Likewise, Sofía has gained extensive experience in administrative procedures on this matter in Mexico, such as infringements, nullities and expiration of distinctive signs.
In addition, she conducts research on Industrial Property assets for corporate transactions, and prepares assignment and licensing agreements. Her experience covers a variety of industries, including IT services and technology, real estate, clothing, alcoholic beverages (wine, beers and spirits), among others.
She also has experience in the creation of investment vehicles, commercial mergers and acquisitions, according to the needs of the Firm's clients.
